Jon Lester thanks the supportive Cubs fans

by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Cubs were outplayed against the Los Angeles Dodgers during their NLCS series loss that ended the Cubs season on Thursday night.

However, the Cubs have been on a great run making it to three straight NLCS series which is very tough to do.

Cubs veteran Jon Lester took to Twitter on Friday to thank the Cubs fans for a great season.

"Came up short but still proud of this team," Lester posted. "Thanks to the fans for supporting us from the first pitch on opening day to the final out last night."

In 2017, Lester had 13-8 record with 4.33 ERA, 180 strikeouts, and 1.32 WHIP.

Lester and the Cubs fans are tied to each other for at least three more seasons as his contract runs out after the 2020 season.
