Cubs News: Kris Bryant injury update

by - Senior Editor -

Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant has been out of the lineup recently because they were resting him to try to get him out of an offensive slump at the plate.

However, on Sunday, he was out of the lineup because it was announced that he has left shoulder soreness which is described as 'wear and tear' according to ESPN's Jesse Rogers.

It is more than likely just a day-to-day issue. Hopefully, he will be playing Monday or Tuesday against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Bryant said before Sunday's game that the injury happened about five days ago and he thinks it was because of over-swinging. He doesn't think the shoulder issue is serious.

In 2018, Bryant is hitting .280 with nine homers, 36 RBIs, and a .383 on-base percentage.
