Cubs News: Kris Bryant on rehab: "I feel a lot more powerful" |
Kris Bryant's rehab from his left shoulder injury sounds like it is on the fast track now. The Cubs third baseman took batting practice on Saturday morning and reportedly was extremely impressing hitting 10+ homers and showed off some power that he was missing with his injury.
"I felt good today, so I'm ready to go," Bryant said via 670 The Score. "I feel like I'm hitting balls farther. I feel like before, I was only really hitting the ball with one or one-and-a-half hands connected to the bat. Now I actually feel like I'm hitting it with two hands. I feel a lot more powerful." He said that he will take live batting practice off of Drew Smyly soon and then look to begin a rehab assignment starting Monday. Triple-A Iowa returns home from a road trip on Tuesday. For the season, Bryant is batting .276 with 11 homers and 44 RBIs.
