The Chicago Cubs really would like to have starter
Yu Darvish back for the important stretch of games left in the regular season.
It appears that he is getting back on track as he had a 50 pitch simulated game at Wrigley Field on Tuesday afternoon. Cubs manager told 670 The Score on Tuesday that he was impressed by Darvish's performance. "Let's just take it one step at a time," he said. "I was watching his third inning, and his stuff was really good. Good breaking ball, great spin on the breaking stuff today. He was totally involved. He was really competing out there. You could tell because he got upset with himself after a spiked one fastball. I liked what I saw. He was totally engaged. He was not holding back. We were all very impressed." The next step in his rehab would be to go out on a rehab start or two before returning to the team. Darvish is 1-3 with a 4.95 ERA this season.
