Position: Quality Control Coach

The Washington Nationals recently hired former Cubs bench coach Dave Martinez as their new manager on a four-year contract.

However, that apparently won't be the last coach to leave this offseason from the Cubs to the Nationals.

The Washington Post is reporting that Cubs quality control coach Henry Blanco will leave the Cubs for a bullpen position with the Nationals.

"Bullpen coach is the lone vacancy remaining, though Henry Blanco is expected to be named to the position, according to a person with knowledge of the situation," Washington Post said. "A former catcher, the 46-year-old Blanco played 16 major league seasons and spent the past three seasons with Martinez on the Cubs’ coaching staff as a quality control coach."

This has been a crazy offseason with regards to coaching changes within the Cubs organization as many have been hired away with job promotions to other teams.

New coaches for the Cubs include Jim Hickey as the pitching coach, Chilli Davis as hitting coach, Andy Haines as the assistant hitting coach, Brian Butterfield as the third base coach, and Brandon Hyde as the new bench coach.

Now, it appears that the North Siders will be looking for a quality control coach.
