Cubs News: Report: TBS refused to move up Tuesday's NLDS start time

by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Cubs will hopefully play the Washington Nationals on Tuesday but heavy rain in the forecast might postpone the event or cause a rain delay or two late into the evening.

If the game can't be played on Tuesday, the Nationals might get a break because they could choose to pitch Stephen Strasburg on regular rest tomorrow instead of Tanner Roark.

Cubs manager Joe Maddon told reporters on Tuesday that he is sticking with Jake Arrieta for Game 4 regardless if it is played on Tuesday or Wednesday.

All of these issues could have been avoided if the powers that be and TBS would have agreed to play the game at 12 p.m. CDT but they refused according to multiple reports.

This is not good news as a broadcast company is potentially changing the outcome of a series.

Update: TBS said that Caray's tweet is untrue and the conversation about moving the game never came up.
