Cubs News: Wade Davis to go on paternity leave, reliever called up

CHICAGO – The Chicago Cubs today placed right-handed pitcher Wade Davis on the paternity list and recalled right-handed pitcher Dylan Floro from Triple-A Iowa.

Floro will be available for the Cubs tonight as they begin their three-game series against the Miami Marlins at Wrigley Field.

The 26-year-old Floro returns for his third stint with the Cubs this season. He has made two relief appearances during his previous stays with the club, posting no record and an 8.53 ERA (6 ER/6.1 IP). He allowed one earned run in 4.1 innings on May 9 in Colorado before being charged with five runs in 2.0 innings on May 21 in closing out a 13-6 win vs. Milwaukee. With Iowa this year, Floro has gone 2-1 with one save and a 4.01 ERA (11 ER/24.2 IP) in 14 appearances, one as a starter.

Davis, 31, is 2-0 with 12 saves and a 0.89 ERA (2 ER/20.1 IP) in 21 relief outings this season.
