Cubs News: Rizzo hands $2 million check to Children's Hospital |
Anthony Rizzo is at it again.
On Tuesday, Rizzo visited the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago. Along with delivering Amazon gift cards, Rizzo visited with patients and their families, playing cars, listening to jokes and dancing with The Ellen Show sensation, Ava Blaser. To top it off, he donated $2 million to the Hope 44 programs. Rizzo started the "Hope 44 Endowed Fund" last year to help families dealing with cancer. Rizzo is well known for his charitable work through his foundation, the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation. For the 2018 season, Rizzo has been working on the Home Run Challenge, donating money every time he hits a home run. Hey @TheEllenShow I got a chance to meet Ava today and see some of her dance moves. @AvaBlaser #KeepDancing pic.twitter.com/bgYteBkuiH Another great day for the @RizzoFoundation as we delivered a $2 million check to support the Hope 44 programs. @LurieChildrens pic.twitter.com/1C7ZnmJ5iX Thank you to @GallagherGlobal for helping us surprise the kids @LurieChildrens with @amazon gift cards so they could each pick out their own special gift after different Cancer procedures. These gifts help associate a positive memory with such a difficult time. pic.twitter.com/I8lewbH9Cr Playing cars with Owen.
