Cubs News: Rizzo on trade speculation with his teammates |
The Manny Machado trade rumors to the Cubs have been swirling for the last few weeks.
Anthony Rizzo was on 'The Kap & Company' morning radio show on ESPN 1000 and spoke about his thoughts on the trade rumors that were involving some of his teammates like shortstop Addison Russell. "I don't think it's fair for us to do that just because someone reports that or rumors going around on the Internet," Rizzo said about paying attention to the rumors. "Especially as this team gets older, we know rumors fly around all the time, that's what they are, they're rumors. If you are getting on the Internet and looking at this guy said this and I'm getting traded and your not." Rizzo knows baseball is a game of confidence and trade rumors could affect certain individual's performances on the diamond. "It's not good so it doesn't really affect the clubhouse though at all. It could affect individuals if they are worried about that but you can't really be too uptight about getting traded because you can't control that."
