Cubs News: Rizzo picks Ross as a more difficult loss than Arrieta |
Sometimes you miss your Grandpa.
Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo was recently interviewed on the Starting 9 Podcast and shared that David 'Grandpa' Ross was more of a tough loss for him personally than pitcher Jake Arrieta. "I'd probably say Rossy was a little tougher for me because Rossy's a position player," Rizzo said. "Those pitchers are on their own schedule. Rizzo also said that the team plane ride home was very special after they won the 2016 World Series. "The plane ride home was a lot of fun," he said. "That's kind of the last time everyone's really all together with the wives and the girlfriends and everyone so that plane ride home was special. We got home late, or early in the morning, then when the parade hit and all that everyone goes their separate ways. That plane ride was really special."
