A 12-year old cancer patient named Abby Schrage who is currently battling brain cancer had her signed picture and letter from
Anthony Rizzo stolen recently from her hospital room.
However, there is a happy ending for Abby and Cubs fans that were outraged at this ongoing story. Rizzo has sent Abby a signed jersey, a new autographed photo, and tickets for her family for the 2018 home opener at Wrigley Field. "That is so incredibly sweet of him. It just makes me think even higher [of him]," Abby's mother told the Chicago Sun-Times. I’m amazed our story reached him and that he took the time to reach out to us,” Schrage said. “He’s just trying to put a smile back on our girl’s face.” The hospital is currently investigating with their security cameras but there are no cameras inside patients' rooms.
