Cubs News: Russell scratched from lineup due to injury

by - Senior Editor -

Chicago Cubs shortstop Addison Russell is a late scratch from the lineup with right shoulder soreness. The injury appears to be day-to-day and hopefully he will return to the lineup on Friday against the Cardinals.

Javy Baez will now take his place in the infield for today's game.

Russell is batting .227 with two homers, 15 RBI, and .293 on-base percentage in 2017. For his short career, he is batting .238 with 36 homers, 164, and has a .312 on-base percentage.
