Cubs News: Shohei Ohtani signs with AL team

by - Senior Editor -

The waiting is over for Shoehei Ohtani.

According to his agents at CAA, Ohtani has decided to play for the Los Angeles Angels.

"What mattered to him most wasn’t market size, time zone or league but that he felt a true bond with the Angels."

Ohtani wanted to play out west and now he gets his wish and will be paired with superstar Mike Trout in the outfield.

The Angels will have Ohtani for six-years on a very inexpensive contract.

In 2017, Ohtani batted .332 with eight home runs in 65 games. For his professional career, he has hit .283 with 48 homers and 166 RBIs in 403 games. As a pitcher during his career, he has a 42-15 record with a 2.52 ERA and 1.08 WHIP.
