WATCH: Albert Almora Jr. makes brilliant leaping catch

CHICAGO — Chicago Cubs center fielder Albert Almora Jr. is still gunning for his first Gold Glove Award, and he flashed the leather with a catch befitting of the honor against the Chicago White Sox on Sunday. Robbing White Sox third baseman Yoan Moncada of an extra-base hit, Almora made a spectacular leaping grab in deep center field.

Racing back in an effort to snag a liner hit off the bat of Moncada in the bottom of the first at Guaranteed Rate Field, Almora jumped up and pulled off an impressive overhead catch. Almora backhanded the baseball behind his head while in midair, and, even after tumbling to the ground, he was able to hang on to secure the putout.
