WATCH: Almora, Jr., lays out for spectacular diving grab

by - Senior Writer -

ST. LOUIS — With his Chicago Cubs trailing 5-0 in the eighth, center fielder Albert Almora, Jr., went all out for an amazing diving catch to prevent two more runs from being scored by the St. Louis Cardinals.

On a lined shot to center by the Cardinals' Kolten Wong, Almora, Jr., dove headfirst to make the midair snag. Colliding with the ground, Almora, Jr., was able to hold onto the ball for the out.

Coming with two outs and runners on second and third, the catch ended the inning and precluded the Cardinals from adding to their already-sizable lead.

Having pulled off a multitude of stellar grabs in the outfield this season, Almora, Jr., seems well on his way to winning his first Gold Glove.
