WATCH: Almora lays out for flashy inning-ending catch |
To end the top of the second inning against the Cincinnati Reds on Friday, Chicago Cubs center fielder
Albert Almora Jr. laid out for a flashy catch in center field that robbed Reds second baseman Derek Dietrich of a hit. Showing a disregard for life and limb, which he often does, Almora charged the line drive and dove forward to make the catch before colliding with the ground.
Almora quickly bounced back up onto his feet, though, and trotted off the field after the recording the third out and leaving Dietrich miffed. By pulling off impressive web gems like that, Almora proves time and time again that he is one of the most talented defensive outfielders in baseball. That face when Albert Almora steals a base hit from you ??
