WATCH: Baez fired up after drilling 449-foot solo blast

by - Senior Writer -

The Chicago Cubs tabbed their third home run against the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday when shortstop Javier Baez obliterated a changeup on a 449-foot no-doubter in the bottom of the seventh. The solo home run off Phillies reliever Enyel De Los Santos put the Cubs up 8-3 at the Friendly Confines.

Evincing that he is fully recovered from his recent heel injury, Baez, who hit a game-winning single against the Phillies on Tuesday, knew that he had gone yard as soon as he swung the bat in the seventh. "Javy" was fired up while sauntering out of the batter's box to round the bases. He now has 12 home runs and 33 RBI on the season.
