WATCH: Baez hammers no-doubter for 501st career hit

by - Senior Writer -

After singling for his 500th career hit earlier in the night, Chicago Cubs infielder Javier Baez made much more of splash on Wednesday with his 501st career hit by sending a no-doubter over the wall in right-center for his sixth home run of the season. The solo bomb in the top of the eighth put the Cubs ahead of the Miami Marlins 6-0.

The 2-out dinger came on a four-seamer thrown over the plate by Marlins reliever Nick Anderson and provided Baez with his second hit, run and RBI of the evening. The blast carried 392 feet out of Marlins Park and left the bat traveling at an angle of 26 degrees and a speed of 102 miles per hour.
