WATCH: Baez makes incredible running throw for difficult out |
PHILADELPHIA — Chicago Cubs sensation Javier Baez never ceases to amaze. In the fifth inning of the Cubs' Saturday night clash with the Philadelphia Phillies, Baez darted after a grounder hit by Phillies speedster Roman Quinn and proceeded to pull off an unbelievable throw to first base for an out.
Rolling to his right, the right-handed Baez made a backhanded scoop of the ball and then fired a throw across his body to Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo to gun Quinn down. Rizzo was a major factor in the spectacular highlight, as well. Lunging to make the grab while maintaining contact with the bag, Rizzo was able to corral Baez's bullet of a throw for out number one in the frame. The same thing we do every night, Javy. pic.twitter.com/l56wDnjRPE
