WATCH: Baez skies solo blast into Nationals' bullpen

by - Senior Writer -

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Hammering a four-seamer thrown right down the pipe by Washington Nationals reliever Jimmy Cordero, Chicago Cubs sensation Javier Baez tagged his 31st home run of the season on Thursday.

Going yard in the top of the sixth to put the Cubs up 3-2 over the Nats, Baez delivered as part of a stellar 3-4 plate performance on the day.

Driving a 384-footer into the Nationals' bullpen beyond right field, Baez smoked the baseball, which left the bat at 105 miles per hour and at an angle of 25 degrees.
