WATCH: Baez smashes 25th dinger as Cubs fan makes great catch

by - Senior Writer -

KANSAS CITY — A mere day after setting a new career high in home runs, Chicago Cubs infielder Javier Baez tabbed his 25th long ball of the season to increase that career-best mark.

Swinging on the first pitch of the sixth inning, Baez took Kansas City Royals reliever Kevin McCarthy deep to give the Cubs a 2-1 lead.

A towering shot that left the bat at a 31-degree launch angle, the solo blast carried 414 feet directly out beyond center field and into the glove of a giddy Cubs fan who caught the souvenir.
