WATCH: Baez with incredible web gem at third base |
KANSAS CITY — Starting at third base for the Chicago Cubs on Monday night, Javier Baez, a middle infielder by trade, showcased that he is just as amazing on the hot corner as he is at second base and shortstop.
Laying out to make a diving stop, Baez gloved a screamer hit by Jorge Bonifacio of the Kansas City Royals in the second inning and proceeded to gun an absolute cannon of a throw across the diamond to out Bonifacio at first base. How many gold gloves are you allowed to win in a single season? pic.twitter.com/BAOc3W34j2 Making a strong case for his first Gold Glove Award this season, Baez has routinely pulled off web gems during the course of the 2018 slate, but perhaps none have been more impressive than his unbelievable play at third base against the Royals.
