WATCH: Baez with sweet swing on opposite-field blast |
ST. LOUIS — For the second game in a row, Javier Baez homered for the Chicago Cubs to increase his team lead in both home runs and RBI. Swatting at an outside fastball thrown by St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Miles Mikolas, Baez drove a two-run home run just over the wall in the right-field corner.
Traveling 341 feet, Baez's opposite-field blast left the bat at 103 miles per hour and sported a launch angle of 24 degrees. The two-run dinger scored Jason Heyward and made the score 6-2 in favor of the Cardinals. Baez now boasts 21 homers and 77 RBI on the year. .@javy23baez’s 21st home run of the year gives him a career-high 77 RBI. pic.twitter.com/iPttTj765h
