WATCH: Bote makes circus catch on tricky popup

by - Senior Writer -

CHICAGO — During the top of the first in the Chicago Cubs' matchup with the Washington Nationals on Friday afternoon, Cubs third baseman David Bote made an incredible circus catch of a pop fly hit by Nationals slugger Bryce Harper.

Coming with runners on first and second and one out, the catch proved critical for limiting the Nationals to just one run in the inning. Hustling down the third-base line, Bote reached across his body while standing in foul territory to catch the ball in fair territory and prevent a bloop hit.

Making quite the impact on both the offensive and defensive ends as of late, Bote certainly impressed with this particular catch, as he was able to keep an eye on the baseball while running up the line and complete a miraculous catch.
