Even on a cold, windy night in Chicago, the customary Gatorade bath that comes with smacking a walk-off hit cannot be avoided. Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant learned that the hard way when his teammates dumped several coolers of sports drink all over him after he hit a walk-off 3-run home run to lift the Cubs over the Miami Marlins on Tuesday.

Following the thrilling 5-2 win that was ended via Bryant's sixth dinger of the season, Bryant was conducting an on-field interview when he noticed his comrades coming with the Gatorade. The slugger pleaded with them to spare him from the unpleasant soaking on the 35-degree evening at Wrigley Field but to no avail, as he was doused anyway. Although his pleas were ignored, Bryant could not help but be all smiles after receiving the celebratory shower on a special night at the Friendly Confines.
