WATCH: Bryant crushes 440-foot homer to break homerless streak

by - Senior Editor -

Kris Bryant was in the middle of his worse homerless streak of his career (104 at-bats) entering Friday night's game against the Cardinals.

However, that is all over as he crushed a two-run, 440-foot homer to give the Cubs a 3-0 lead in the third inning. It was his first homer since May 14 and ninth dinger overall.

The homer broke a 0-17 streak at the plate and his dad was actually in attendance cheering him on. It appears that all that Bryant needed was a day off just like Cubs manager Joe Maddon had said earlier in the day.
