WATCH: Contreras cussing at Brewers' dugout |
The rivalry between the Cubs and the Brewers appears to be heating up more and more each season.
During Sunday afternoon's game, Cubs catcher Willson Contreras crushed a ball to right field for a stand-up triple. After he called for time, he was very pumped up and was seen on television staring and cussing at the Brewers' dugout. ESPN's Jesse Rogers spoke to Contreras during postgame interviews and he said that he had some 'beef' with a Brewers player that likes to 'chirp' at him and not with the pitcher. "Not with him. I have nothing against the pitcher," Contreras said. "He's doing his job. He can do whatever he wants. But there was one person from them that I don't like and that was something that came out. "We battled, I won the battle and that feels good. I'm excited. And also one of them doing different things towards me and I took it personally. We had an incident back in Venezuela back in 2014 and he knows who he is." Contreras backed up his talk on the afternoon going 2-for-4 with a double, triple, and a walk. Check out the NSFW video below: Not sure what Willson is saying here. Can anyone read lips? pic.twitter.com/EWBsyOAJ6d Notice Contreras mentioned an incident from 2014. Baseball players have a long memories. For better or for worse. It is helpful for remembering game patterns. I think there is probably a pitcher from Teaneck Western Little League from 1981 that I would charge today. ?? https://t.co/fJcVSkdZHP
