WATCH: Contreras hammers 424-foot walk-off moonshot in 15th inning

by - Senior Writer -

For the third time in less than a week, the Chicago Cubs won a game at Wrigley Field via a walk-off home run on Saturday. This time, Willson Contreras was the hero for the Cubs, with the catcher nailing a changeup thrown to him by Milwaukee Brewers reliever Burch Smith and sending it 424 feet out to left to bring a 15-inning marathon to a close.

The 15th-inning bomb marked Contreras' 10th home run of the season and was the second hit of the day for the backstop. It was smoked off the bat at 111 miles per hour and nearly carried out onto Waveland Avenue. The towering moonshot had a launch angle of 34 degrees, and it provided the Cubs with a 2-1 victory for their third walk-off win in their last five games.
