WATCH: Contreras videobombs reporter in dugout |
CHICAGO — Willson Contreras may be one of the best catchers in baseball, but that does not mean that the All-Star Chicago Cubs backstop is above acting silly every now and then.
Getting the day off in the Cubs' matchup with the San Diego Padres on Friday, Contreras used his down time in the dugout to cut up on camera. With NBC Sports Chicago reporter Kelly Crull providing an on-camera update during the game, Contreras videobombed her. Contreras opted to go with a classic videobombing ploy that involved him hiding behind Crull and popping his head out to reveal himself over and over again. Of course, as a 210-pound man, Contreras was unable to properly conceal himself behind Crull, which made the antics even funnier. It appears Willson is keeping himself occupied on his day off... pic.twitter.com/8JYp7ABqp6 Perhaps, Contreras can enhance the creativity of his videobombing techniques before he has another chance to show out on camera. Regardless, the smile on his face when he videobombed Crull indicated that Contreras has having a blast being a kid again, and that is all that really matters.
