by - Senior Editor -

Cubs third baseman David Bote was called up on Saturday night after Ben Zobrist landed on the 10-day disabled list with back issues.

It was actually Bote's major league debut in his hometown and in his first at-bat with over 30 family members in attendance, he crushed a double to right center field. The hit will be a memory that will last him and his family a lifetime.

He actually spent four years in Single-A ball and finally made it to the big show.
