WATCH: Fan makes barehanded grab of Schwarber's home run |
CINCINNATI — The Chicago Cubs hit back-to-back home runs in the second inning against the Cincinnati Reds, taking a 3-1 lead on Reds starting pitcher Tyler Mahle.
Kyle Schwarber hit the first homer, a rocket over the wall in right that boasted an exit velocity of 107 miles per hour. A two-run shot, the dinger scored Ian Happ, who walked earlier in the inning. Schwarber's eighth home run of the year, the long ball came on a changeup over the middle, and it sailed 376 feet to right. Cubs infielder Javier Baez followed up Schwarber's home run with one of his own, a towering bomb to left. And Schwarber was clearly really excited about it.
