WATCH: Happ hits solo homer, Cubs reach major milestone

CINCINNATI — Once a star college player for the Cincinnati Bearcats, Chicago Cubs outfielder Ian Happ has displayed an incredible acumen for hitting at Cincinnati's Great American Ballpark in his young MLB career.

In fact, Happ has performed incredibly well against the Reds, regardless of the venue, sporting a higher career batting average against them than any other National League team.

After a 3-4 plate performance that saw him finish a single short of hitting for the cycle in game one of Saturday's doubleheader between the Chicago Cubs and the Cincinnati Reds, Happ picked up right where he left off in game two.

Crushing the first pitch thrown to him by Reds starter Sal Romano in the first at-bat of the fourth inning, Happ drilled a 92-mile-per-hour two-seamer out of the park.

Pulling a 362-foot solo jack to right for his seventh home run of the year and second of the day, Happ provided the Cubs with a 2-0 advantage. The homer also marked the 14,000th long ball in the long, storied history of the Cubs franchise.
