WATCH: Happ starts season off with a bang on first pitch

Ian Happ it not messing around this season.

The young Cubs outfielder smacked a homer on the first pitch of the 2018 major league season. The homer traveled 392 feet and had an exit velocity of 107 MPH.

He is the first player to hit a homer off the first pitch in a season since Kazuo Matsui in 2004.

According to ESPN Stats and Info, Happ is the third youngest (23) to hit an Opening Day homer, since at least in the live ball era.

During the spring, he lead all hitter with seven homers including five leadoff dingers.
