WATCH: Heyward bashes solo home run to put Cubs on scoreboard against Diamondbacks

by - Senior Writer -

CHICAGO — Chicago Cubs right fielder Jason Heyward earned his seventh home run of the year with a solo shot that just cleared the ivy-covered wall in left field at Wrigley Field on Tuesday night.

Serving as the Cubs' first run of the night in their game against the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Heyward bomb came on a four-seamer from Diamondbacks starting pitcher Clay Buchholz. Leaving the bat at 102 miles per hour, the lined shot traveled 370 feet at a launch angle of 21 degrees.
