WATCH: Highlights from Cubs' amazing 6-homer performance in win over Nationals

by - Senior Writer -

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Going yard six times, including five instances of yard work over the course of the final three innings, the Chicago Cubs (26-16) laid waste to Washington Nationals (18-26) pitching at Nationals Park on Friday. Opening the 3-game series with a bang, the Cubs poured it on late in the contest and tallied a convincing 14-6 victory versus the Nats.

Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant produced a memorable performance on the night by hitting three home runs in a game for the second time in his career as part of a dominant 4-for-6 showing at the dish. The homers came in three straight at-bats for Bryant that took place in three straight innings. Bryant currently leads the majors with a 26-game on-base streak and is in the midst of one of the best offensive stretches of his MLB tenure.
