WATCH: Highlights from Cubs' walk-off win against Pirates

by - Senior Writer -

CHICAGO — After blowing a four-run lead late in the ballgame, the Chicago Cubs (92-66) bounced back to defeat the Pittsburgh Pirates (80-77) by a score of 7-6 in 10 innings. The Cubs took home the victory on a walk-off single by outfielder Albert Almora Jr. that scored pinch runner Terrance Gore.

Chicago relievers Carl Edwards Jr. and Justin Wilson were each charged with two runs in the eighth and ninth innings, respectively, as the Buccos overcame a 6-2 deficit to force extra innings. Almora's game-winning hit made the relief-pitching struggles water under the bridge, though, with the Cubs maintaining their minuscule lead in the National League Central.
