WATCH: Highlights of Cubs-Phillies extra-innings nail-biter

by - Senior Writer -

PHILADELPHIA — A walk-off home run by veteran infielder Asdrubal Cabrera provided the Philadelphia Phillies (72-62) with a 2-1 extra-innings win over the Chicago Cubs (79-55). Leaving 20 runners stranded, the Cubs wasted a multitude of scoring opportunities and scored their only run on a solo homer.

Going yard for the 29th time this season, Cubs MVP candidate Javier Baez powered out a 417-foot shot in the fifth inning. In addition to Baez, one of the most effective batters of the game happened to be Cubs starting pitcher Jose Quintana, who garnered two hits at the plate.
