WATCH: Highlights of Cubs-Reds battle, including Happ's heroics

by - Senior Writer -

CHICAGO — Topping the divisional rival Cincinnati Reds (63-85) by a score of 3-2, the Chicago Cubs (86-61) emerged victoriously on Friday because of a pivotal three-run blast hit by center fielder Ian Happ. Smacking a 398-foot bomb out to deep left in the bottom of the seventh, Happ put the Cubs on the board and provided them with their only runs of the contest.

Facing a nine-day hitless streak coming into Friday's contest, Happ broke out of that slump in a major way. Firing up the crowd at Wrigley Field with the go-ahead blast, Happ took advantage of Reds ace Matt Harvey being pulled from the game at the conclusion of the previous inning.
