WATCH: Highlights of Cubs' slugfest with Brewers, including Almora, Jr.'s, home run

by - Senior Writer -

CHICAGO — With a combined 22 hits, the Chicago Cubs (69-50) and the Milwaukee Brewers (68-55) slugged it out in the finale of a two-game set at Wrigley Field. With two home runs, the Cubs were successful at the plate a mere day after getting shut out by the Brewers in the series opener. As a result, the North Siders walked away with a hard-fought 8-4 victory.

Both of Chicago's home runs were significant for similar reasons. After serving as the leadoff man for several weeks, first baseman Anthony Rizzo returned to the cleanup spot and celebrated by bashing a two-run dinger. Also, after approximately a month and a half of not going yard, center fielder Albert Almora, Jr., hit a long ball for the first time since late June.
