CHICAGO — Even though they mustered just one run, the Chicago Cubs (87-61) were able to pull out a win against the Cincinnati Reds (63-86) on Saturday. Garnering a 1-0 victory, the Cubs set up a potential sweep for tomorrow afternoon. Second baseman Javier Baez scored the winning run for Chicago on a clutch single by catcher Willson Contreras with two outs in the sixth.

The star performer for the Cubs on the day was starting pitcher Jon Lester, who pitched seven scoreless innings en route to improving to 16-6 overall. Lester struck out nine and was taken for only two hits and two walks in a dominant outing on the mound.
