KANSAS CITY — Chicago Cubs (65-47) superstar Javier Baez, who collected the two most important RBI of the game and showed out on defense, led the charge for the Cubs in their conquest of the Kansas City Royals (34-78) in the opener of a three-game affair at Kauffman Stadium on Monday.

By clubbing his 25th home run of the season on a 414-foot no-doubter to center field, driving in an insurance run on an RBI double and coming up with an impressive diving stop at third base, Baez played a key role in the Cubs coming out on top and Chicago starting pitcher Cole Hamels moving to 2-0 since he joined the Cubs.
