CHICAGO — After tying Chicago Cubs legend Ernie Banks' record for the most home runs hit by a Cub in his first five big-league seasons on Saturday, Cubs third baseman Bryant broke the record on Sunday. With the 137th long ball of his career, Bryant drilled a 3-run shot in the first inning.

Getting underneath a slider thrown by Pittsburgh Pirates starter Trevor Williams, Bryant put the Cubs up 3-0 with a 367-footer that was lofted out to left-center field. The blast at Wrigley Field marked Bryant's 30th dinger of the season, making him the third Cubs third baseman to experience multiple 30-homer seasons.
