WATCH: Rizzo continues to dominate as leadoff hitter

by - Senior Writer -

CHICAGO — With his first triple of the season and the 15th triple of his career, Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo continued to make his mark as a leadoff man in the Cubs' matchup with the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday afternoon.

Legging out a stand-up triple, Rizzo coasted into third base after swatting a screamer into the right-field corner. Rizzo benefited from former Cubs teammate and current Cardinals outfielder Dexter Fowler fumbling with the ball in right field. Rizzo was credited with a triple, though, and Fowler avoided being charged with an error.

Rizzo has led off all three games of the series with the Cardinals thus far and has led off for the Cubs in seven total games this season. Of those seven leadoff plate appearances, Rizzo is 4-5 with a single, a double, a triple, a home run, a walk, a hit by pitch and a groundout.
