Anthony Rizzo won the duel with an RBI single in the bottom of the third on Monday. Rizzo drove a slider thrown by Arrieta out to right field that plated left fielder
Kyle Schwarber to break a scoreless tie and give the Cubs a 1-0 lead.
The outing marked Arrieta's first start at Wrigley Field since he departed to join the Phillies after playing for the Cubs from 2013 to 2017.
