WATCH: Rizzo hits solo blast while on one knee

by - Senior Writer -

DETROIT — Pulling off perhaps his most remarkable baseball feat yet, Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo hit a home run while on one knee against the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday. Hitting his 19th homer of the season, Rizzo drilled a solo blast to right field on a beastly swing that took him down on a knee.

Showcasing his strength, Rizzo powering out a 379-footer on a low, inside breaking ball while kneeling was uncanny. Leaving the bat at 97 miles per hour, the ball blazed out of the park for a dinger that made the score 2-1 in favor of the Tigers. Better yet, the home run came on Rizzo's mom's birthday.
