WATCH: Rizzo smacks his first homer of season

by - Senior Writer -

Looking to top Ian Happ's leadoff homer, Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo skied a solo jack into the right-field bleachers in the top of the second to provide the Cubs with a commanding 4-1 lead.

Leaving the bat at a scorching 102 miles per hour, Rizzo's 393-foot bomb came on a two-seamer from Miami pitcher Jose Urena, who is struggling mightily in his opening start of the season.

Definitely an emotional day for the Cubs' star slugger, Rizzo assuredly has his alma mater of Stoneman Douglas High School in mind as he looks to lead Chicago to a win on Opening Day in his home state of Florida.
