WATCH: Russell homers in first at-bat back

by - Senior Editor -

Chicago Cubs shortstop Addison Russell returned from the disabled list on Saturday afternoon and hit a pinch-hit homer in the eighth inning against the Cardinals. It was his first at-bat since Aug. 2 because of a right foot injury.

The homer went an estimated 437 feet which would be the longest of Russell's career.

The Cubs are now up 4-1 in the eighth inning.
