WATCH: Scherzer lets out primal scream as he strikes out Baez

by - Senior Writer -

CHICAGO — Washington Nationals ace Max Scherzer has developed a reputation for himself as being a workhorse on the mound. With on-field microphones consistently picking up his loud grunting on the hill, Scherzer makes it obvious that he goes all out in his starts.

However, on Sunday night against the Chicago Cubs, Scherzer reached a new level in terms of animalistic noise-making. On a swinging strikeout of Cubs infielder Javier Baez, Scherzer let out a roar that sounded more like a mating call from the Serengeti than a celebratory yelp.

Reaching a double-digit strikeout total against the Cubs, Scherzer threw heat from the very start and literally let the Cubs hear about it.
