PITTSBURGH — Putting the Chicago Cubs on top of the Pittsburgh Pirates, left fielder Kyle Schwarber skied a solo bomb down the right-field line in the second inning to put the Cubs up 1-0 on Friday.

The high, arcing shot left the bat at an angle of 32 degrees and carried 346 feet. The dinger marked Schwarber's 21st home run of the season and came on a four-seam fastball thrown by Pirates hurler Trevor Williams.
