WATCH: Schwarber somehow throws speedy Lindor out at second base

by - Senior Writer -

CHICAGO — Chicago Cubs left fielder Kyle Schwarber has made a habit of gunning down runners on the basepaths this season, utilizing his remarkable cannon and impeccable accuracy to develop a reputation for being one of the most dangerous arms in the outfield.

The former catcher displayed his trademark accuracy by somehow gunning down speedy Cleveland Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor at second base in the top of the first tonight. Lindor smacked a deep single, but Schwarber sprinted to the ball, making a sliding grab that was followed by an amazing throw.

Quickly popping up from his slide, Schwarber turned and threw a laser to Cubs second baseman Javier Baez, who applied the tag just in the nick of time, preventing Lindor from coming up with a double. Lindor can now be added to the ever-growing list of players who doubted Schwarber's cannon and paid the price for it.
